Welcome to God Eats Red Meat

Biblical Reference is provided to assist you (blue denotes scripture - bold is my emphasis):

Genesis 2:16 - And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...."

Genesis 9:2-5 -  The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. 4 "But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.

Genesis 27: 3-4 - 3 Now then, get your weapons--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me. 4 Prepare me the kind of tasty food I like and bring it to me to eat, so that I may give you my blessing before I die."

Genesis 27:19 - Jacob said to his father, "I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game so that you may give me your blessing."

Exodus 12:4 - If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat.

Exodus 12:7 - Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs

Exodus 12:8 - That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast

Exodus 12:9 - Do not eat the meat raw or cooked in water, but roast it over the fire--head, legs and inner parts.

The HOLINESS OF GOD reqired sacrifice.  God condoned, in fact insisted that animals be used in recognizing his holiness as noted in Exodus 27:3 when talking about the utensils for sacrifice in the Tabernacle:  "Make al its utensils of bronze - its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans."

Exodus 34:25 Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Feast remain until morning.

Numbers 11:5 - "The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, "If only we had meat to eat!" We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost...."

Numbers 11: 31-33 - Now a wind went out from the Lord an drove quail in from the sea.  It brought them down all around the camp to about three feet above the ground, as far as a day's walk in any direction.  All that day and night and all the next day the people went out and gathered quail...."  Although God used this instance to punish the people who rejected manna, the point that the people had been eating quail, were used to eating quail, understood how to eat quail and MISSED eating quail shows that God's bounty includes meat in a regular diet.

Numbers 18:17-18  "But you must not redeem the firstborn of an ox, a sheep or a goat; they are holy. Sprinkle their blood on the altar and burn their fat as an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
Their meat is to be yours, just as the breast of the wave offering and the right thigh are yours.”

Their meat is to be yours, just as the breast of the wave offering and the right thigh are yours.”

Numbers 12:15-22 "Nevertheless, you may slaughter your animals in any of your towns and eat as much of the meat as you want, as if it were gazelle or deer, according to the blessing the Lord your God gives you. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat it . 16 But you must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water.  17 You must not eat in your own towns the tithe of your grain and new wine and oil, or the firstborn of your herds and flocks, or whatever you have vowed to give, or your freewill offerings or special gifts.  18 Instead, you are to eat them in the presence of the Lord your God at the place the Lord your God will choose--you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levites from your towns--and you are to rejoice before the Lord your God in everything you put your hand to.  19 Be careful not to neglect the Levites as long as you live in your land.  20 When the Lord your God has enlarged your territory as he promised you, and you crave meat and say, "I would like some meat," then you may eat as much of it as you want.  21 If the place where the Lord your God chooses to put his Name is too far away from you, you may slaughter animals from the herds and flocks the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you, and in your own towns you may eat as much of them as you want.  22 Eat them as you would gazelle or deer. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat."

Deuteronomy 14:3-27Do not eat any detestable thing.

Deu 14:4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep. [fn] 6 You may eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud.  7 However, of those that chew the cud or that have a split hoof completely divided you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the coney. [fn] Although they chew the cud, they do not have a split hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you.  8 The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.  9 Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales.  10 But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean.  11 You may eat any clean bird.  12 But these you may not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture,  13 the red kite, the black kite, any kind of falcon, 14 any kind of raven, 15 the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk, 16 the little owl, the great owl, the white owl, 17 the desert owl, the osprey, the cormorant, 18 the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat. :19 All flying insects that swarm are unclean to you; do not eat them. 20 But any winged creature that is clean you may eat.  21 Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to an alien living in any of your towns, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk. 22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.  24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose.  26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.Do not eat any detestable thing.  4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep.
